About Cagami Ramen

Cagami Ramen, located at 1855 E Daily Dr, Camarillo, CA 93010, is a standout destination for authentic Japanese ramen in Ventura County. Situated in the Camarillo Plaza shopping center, this restaurant has quickly become a local favorite, offering a genuine taste of Japan in a welcoming, casual setting. The eatery occupies the former home of Sushi Hamayu, which closed in June, and opened its doors in late July, bringing a fresh culinary experience to the community[1]. Cagami Ramen is owned and operated by chef Yuya Ueno and his wife, Asaka, who bring both passion and expertise to every bowl served[6]. Chef Ueno, who originally came to the United States in 2008 with academic ambitions, found his true calling in the art of Japanese cuisine, particularly the rich, comforting flavors of ramen[5].

At Cagami Ramen, the focus is on delivering the best Japanese ramen in the county, crafted with care and authenticity. The menu is a celebration of traditional Japanese flavors, featuring a variety of ramen noodle soups made with rich, savory pork stock—a hallmark of the Fukuoka style, which is known for its depth and complexity[6]. Each bowl is prepared to order, ensuring freshness and quality in every bite. Beyond ramen, the restaurant also offers rice bowls topped with premium ingredients like tuna, salmon, and yellowtail, as well as a selection of fish dishes that showcase the kitchen’s versatility and commitment to quality[1]. For those with a sweet tooth, mochi ice cream provides a delightful finish to the meal[1].

The dining experience at Cagami Ramen is designed to be both satisfying and accessible. The restaurant is closed on Mondays but welcomes guests Tuesday through Friday from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM and again from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. On Saturdays, hours extend from 11:30 AM to 9:00 PM, and on Sundays, service runs from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM[3]. This schedule makes it easy for both lunch and dinner crowds to enjoy a steaming bowl of ramen, whether stopping by for a quick meal or settling in for a leisurely dining experience.

Customer feedback highlights the restaurant’s consistent quality and friendly service. With a 4.3 out of 5 rating on Tripadvisor and a ranking among the top restaurants in Camarillo, Cagami Ramen has earned a reputation for excellence[2]. Patrons frequently praise the rich, flavorful broths, perfectly cooked noodles, and the attention to detail in every dish. The restaurant’s commitment to authenticity is evident not only in the food but also in the atmosphere, which balances modern comfort with traditional Japanese touches.

Cagami Ramen is more than just a place to eat—it’s a culinary journey. Chef Ueno’s dedication to his craft is reflected in every aspect of the restaurant, from the carefully sourced ingredients to the meticulous preparation of each dish. Whether you’re a ramen aficionado or new to Japanese cuisine, Cagami Ramen offers an inviting space to explore bold flavors and comforting bowls. The restaurant’s location, nestled between Habit Burger and Urbane Cafe, makes it a convenient stop for both locals and visitors exploring the Camarillo area[1].

Great little ramen place; a cozy restaurant with very kind and tentative staff. The ramen was good. The noodles were perfect, broth was creamy and meat was nice and tender.

This was the cutest place ever! The ramen was soooo good, and it came out super hot and quick. For the amount of food you get, the price is pretty reasonable. The waiter was very kind and attentive.

I ordered the Kuro Mayu, which features “flame roasted garlic oil” — but really it was burnt garlic oil (that isn’t to knock them, I know it’s a thing. You poach whole garlic in oil until it turns dark and then run it through the blender, it’s a normal ingredient used in different iterations). It’s great when used in moderation but this was way too much. I literally sat there skimming it out and our server (Raf) even gave me a bigger bowl to put the oil in, as I ran out of room in my ramekin. Once I managed to get most of the oil out, the broth was over saturated with burnt garlic flavor that it made it impossible to eat. (It’s been like 20 minutes after a few bites and I still can taste it.) My partner enjoyed her Curry Ramen (it did take her a few bites to finally taste hers after she tried some of mine) but the Kuro Mayu was really so bad. Our server said the manager was out of the country but he’d pass on our feedback. It was not taken off our bill and a discount for the inedible food was not offered. This experience was really unfortunate because I love supporting local restaurants and I love trying new foods. I also work in this industry, so I really do understand first hand

Best Ramen in Ventura county hands down. We've come here several times but unfortunately we have to move so we will miss this place. Great ramen, strong delicious broth, great ingredients. My personal favorite is the Curry Ramen.

This was a great find! We stopped in on our way back to LAX and were pleasantly surprised. The homemade gyoza was absolutely delicious and paired well with the ramen! We'll definitely come back here again if we're in the neighborhood.
